About Us

Robert Nelsen Robert Nelsen, founder of Cancer Guide Service began his quest to help people survive cancer in 1998 after his wife was diagnosed with lung cancer.

In seeking medical treatment, he discovered that they had made an all too common mistake of turning over his wife's cancer treatment to medical doctors who were not the best in their field. After her death, Nelsen dedicated himself to learning all that he could about how to survive cancer. It became clear to him how important it is to seek the best cancer doctors, and integrate multiple therapies from both conventional and complementary medicine. Applying the knowledge he had acquired, he authored a book entitled Ten Commandments for Surviving Cancer which is an easy to follow road map for those who are committed to surviving cancer.

Nelsen became a student and graduate of CancerGuides, a training program developed by James S. Gordon, MD, founder of the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Policy. CancerGuides trains health care professionals of all levels and interests in the promotion and integration of multiple therapies to achieve the highest outcome. Even though Mr. Nelsen is not a physician himself and does not prescribe treatments, he has acquired potent resourceful knowledge for surviving cancer.

Nelsen was given a chance to test this knowledge when in 2006 he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and began his own regimental therapeutic treatment program resulting in becoming cancer free. By matching his own diagnosis with a top cancer doctor who specializes in prostate cancer treatment--one with a high reputation for success, Nelsen was able to eliminate other treatments that would have been more invasive and detrimental to his quality of life.

After 10 years of gaining a plethora of knowledge and experience, Nelsen now shares this knowledge, enabling all individuals needing cancer treatment to acquire the resources they need to help themselves make their own choices, and become whole again.
